I think Albert in the end falls in love with Candy since he is amnesic (as all men of history) and in the manga is more clear.
I do not like this, I think that in many places Mizuki told the story wrong (not so say it better in English), there are things illogical.
Anyway Candy loves Terry to the end, I have no doubts about this and it is clear in the novels.
I just wanted to say that Albert is a good character in my opinion, but disappears near Terry.

I think Albert is a good friend, a good brother, a good character ( best in the manga), but I don't see him as husband for Candy.
He would be a good husband for her if Terry had never entered history.
I think he is not "Saint William Albert from Lakewood", but a man with virtues and defects.

It is difficult for me to explain it in english, but I'll try.
With the forced horse ride Terry helps Candy to overcome the grief at the Anthony's death , then he takes care of Candy because she is injured. Terry is passionate and sweet, Candy is surprised and angry before, but in the end they are quiet sitting on the lawn.
When she thinks back to the kiss, it is a sweet thought.
I think this is a beautiful scene and Candy from now beginning to be aware of her feelings for Terry.
I like very much Terry in the anime, but I love Terry in the manga.
